Off Call

Free at last , free at last! Thank God I'm free at last! Yep I tend to say that each time I go off oncall. While this oncall wasn't bad at all it still ties me down. Last night I missed our Wednesday night church service because of a re-promote I had to do "since I was on call". Anyway little things like that impact your daily happenings. To celebrate being off call I took the day off tomorrow. I meet once a month with some of my adoptive parent friends and we have a play date for the kids. Well tomorrow my kids get to come. I've only been able to take them one other time so when I told them last night they were going to Chic-fil-a or as Alex so lovingly calls it chicken-leg they we're very excited. This morning they got up wanting to go today. They were making big plans on what toys they would be playing with in the play area. I think they have it all figured out.

Johnny made plans to go to a Naturals game on Saturday. So I guess it'll be off to the ball park on Saturday weather permitting.

Sunday we're going to visit Gentry and Larkin in OK! They are celebrating their 4th birthday party and I'm excited to be able to meet Larkin for the first time. Gentry traveled home from China with Addie and Miss Larkin came home from China about 6 months ago. So we're really looking forward to meeting her and helping her celebrate her 1st birthday with her family!

Overall a busy weekend but hopefully a fun one!

Be a blessing and be blessed!

Started planting

Well I did start planting this weekend. Oddly enough I didn't get any volunteers.. shame on you! Anyway the front flower bed is really starting to come together and looks pretty good. Overall I'd say our yard in general looks 95% better than it did a few weeks ago. It's mowed, weed eated..(if that's a correct sentence) and the front flower beds are cleaned out planted and mulched! Now to start on the back of the house. Hopefully the weather will be nice Saturday and we'll be able to start back there. Since everyone comes in thru the back I really need to do some major work back there. If you've been to my house and have some ideas let me know. Don't worry I won't try to put you to work!

The kids are doing well. They enjoyed spending time outside. Alex can peddle his bike now and Addie is a work in progress. They're both getting so big. Alex is starting to finally outgrow his 3T's and Addie outgrew one of the short sleeve shirts she wore a lot last year. Fortunately for me I've found several good spring sales.

Planting??

Been so busy lately. Seems like times just flying by before my eyes. The weather the last few days has warmed up and it's been so nice. Wouldn't you know it just in time for me to go on call. It's beautiful outside today. We went out at lunch and it was so hard to come back into the building today! Last week we were finally able to get the rest of the limbs in our yard cleaned up and Johnny got the yard partially mowed on Monday so hopefully this weekend on call will go well and we'll be able to work on the flower beds and get the yard in a somewhat presentable state. The last three years the yard has really took a toll since bringing home Addie and then Alex I've really let my flower beds and the yard in general go! Not to mention Johnny's chickens really did a big number on many of my chrubs and flower beds. Now with them in their own pen I can focus on cleaning it up. Now those of you that know me "know" that I'm not a neat freak or a person that is too terribly concerned out my yard. However there gets a point when you have to say enough is enough and do some major work. I'm thinking about purchasing some different types of decorative grass and placing them in my beds. We get so many leaves and limbs in the beds that it makes it difficult to actually plant flowers and the ground quality is really lacking also. I saw a gardening program the other day were they'd done this and I thought it looked great. Now if I can just get motivated! Any volunteers?
Here are a few examples..

Busy weekend and week

Happy Late Easter
Here are a few pictures from Easter.

Tuesday evening Joseph celebrated Senior night at baseball. The boys below have played ball together every year for the last 10 years or so.. Very proud of each of them. It was an emotional night thinking that this would be one of the last games the ever play together.

Prom

Joe and Ashton went to the prom last weekend. I thought they looked sharp all dressed up. I'd asked Joseph to shave and he did trim his beard but still didn't shave that thing off! He thinks it makes him look older. One day he'll be wanting to look younger. Oh to be young again! Oh but what is the saying your as young as you feel! hmm not feeling very young.lol

Learning so much

This week has been such a big week for Miss Addie. Earlier in the week she told me she wanted to sleep in her own room in her own bed. Now since coming home from China she has slept in our bedroom in a separate bed. Her and Alex have shared a twin bed in our bedroom since he came home. I haven't pushed either one of them to sleep in their own room but all of a sudden she decided that's what she wanted to do. So this week she has slept in her own room every night! Alex joined her one night on his own and then last night I snuck him down after he fell asleep. I'm just amazed at how quickly she decided to make that move on her own. I've really been bragging on her for being such a big girl. Of course I'm bragging on Mr Alex also on his big step to sleep in his own room also.

Not only has Addie been sleeping in her own room but my big girl has learned to tie her own shoes! Yep doing a wonderful job of tying her shoes. She doesn't slack in it at all. She ties them tight and then ties them in a double not. Best tie job I've ever seen! She's still just 3 so I'm amazed at her tying her own shoes. I'll try to get a picture of her with her great tie job so you can see for yourself what a big girl she's become.

Have a wonderful weekend.

New pictures

So I received new pictures of Joseph and Ashton for graduation and pictures of Addie and Alex from preschool. I thought they all turned out great and wanted to share them. Now I just need to get an updated picture of Johnny, myself and Jonathon!

So blessed!
